Sage Advice

My diary has been around long enough now that I finally need to make a FAQ. I need one because some questions are ACTUALLY becoming frequently asked. I'm not just using the buzzwords for fun here kids.

So, some of these questions were actually sent in by readers and the others were questions I knew you wanted to ask but were too polite. You're good people.

I'll continue to update this if it's missing anything. Hope this clears things up!

What's your name again?
Renton! I'm 22 years old and I'm currently living in San Diego (but I'm from Canada)

That's a nice/stupid name. What's up with that?
Yeah, I wasn't born a Renton actually. I was given it at my first communion (most churches give you a name at confirmation. Mine's more of a cult I think) by my godparents and I've gone by it since.

So, are you a guy or a really, butchy girl?
I'm a guy. It's surprising how many of you think people name girls Renton.

Once in a while I read about a girl named Laura. Who is this chick?
Laura's my ex. I was totally in love with this girl for about three years when she dumped me =(. She simply said "I just don't love you". She had been in and out of rehab and detox over the years (but she's clean now) and I did my best to help her through it. It still occasionally hurts that we're not together anymore but I'm a trooper.

Laura sounds like a bitch.
Hey, that's not a question. Sometimes I get angry with her too but mostly I remember all the good stuff over the three years and how much I loved her. We don't talk now.

What about Vegas girl?
I like her and I see her once and a while. She lives in Vegas though so how's it ever going to work? I can't get too emotionally attached when I know it's not going to go anywhere. We do have a lot of fun when we spend time together though.

Does this mean you're single right now?
Severely. Single AND sexy.

I don't want to be rude, but why the hell is your diary named Sage Advice?
My friends used to think I had a really great life so they used to ask for my advice all the time. Now, it's ironic because they're all happy and in love with jobs and good things and I'm celibate and dying alone in the rain (CADAITR).

Yeah, what's with CADAITR?
CADAITR is a club for people who've taken a more mature position on dating. We've realized there's pretty much no chance of finding someone you love and who totally loves you back (with no settling!). We think celibacy and dying alone in the rain is just as good of an option. Probably better. The realization sets you free. Anyone can join!

Are you really sarcastic or is your life as pathetic as it sounds?
